History

The yoga elements and the background of the thai massage seem to have its origin in India. Now a days Dr. Jīvaka-Komārabhacca is still known in Thailand as the „father of medicine“. He lived in the 5 century before christ, during the time of Buddha. History says that he was in contact with Buddha and took care of him and his monks. The traditional Thai massage was used for over centuries in buddhist temples and passed down through generations. Its assumed that the monks use to use this method to cure the consequences of the long meditation positions.
